Terms of Service

Kokos Password Manager is free software, distributed under the MIT License. These terms describe what you can expect when you use it.

The software

Kokos runs locally on your device and does not depend on a service operated by the author. It has no account, and it does not send data to the author. Optional features can contact third-party providers, as the privacy policy describes.

Kokos is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damage, data loss, or other claim arising from its use. You are responsible for your master password, your key file, your backups, and the devices the vault is opened on.

Do not use Kokos for anything unlawful, and do not use it to store material you have no right to hold.

Optional third-party services

Google Drive sync is off unless you turn it on. When enabled, Kokos talks to Google on your behalf under your own Google account, and that use is subject to Google's terms and policies. The vault contents are encrypted before upload; some header metadata stays readable, and the privacy policy describes what leaves the device.

Operating-system keychains and any cloud-storage provider you choose are governed by their own terms.
